Cousin Erica brought her laptop to finish a stats project while visiting. Desmond had other ideas of how to use that laptop.

Halloween 2012

In 2012, we went as Peter Pan, Wendy and Captain Hook. We were out for 30 minutes until a couple of neighbors had their dogs free to welcome people at the door. Put your dogs away people, we don't care and they are not children even if you dress them up and put them in a stroller. Stop it. For one night, leave them away from the door.

This is our 86 year old neighbor. Very agile and spry. She plays tennis a couple of times a week.



Ha, he can walk this year!





What are the chances that we have a deaf neighbor, and the little Des WOULDN'T do the hand sign (cookie) that he knows by heart. We later received a Deaf Democrats note in the mailbox from him. Yeah, they had a micro-group outreach program.



He didn't get that he should hold the handle of the sword.





This last video was of a tired Desmond. Our newest neighbors had 3 huge bowls of candy. It was a down year for kids trick or treating, so we think the couple ended up eating 9 lbs of candy.

Did Peter Pan Put on Weight?

Dad and Desmodn mess around as Captain Hook and Peter Pan before trick or treating. Dad mentions how he looks like Link from Legend of Zelda. Either way he looks 'puffy'.

Desmond and Dad Conversate for a Few

Dad and Desmond play with a toy and talk a bit. Desmond would not let the camera out of his site or much beyond his grasp. Desmond was hoarse from all the jibber jabber when Gramma and Grampa visited.

Gramma + Grampa Visit Fall 2012

Gramm and Grampa came to visit. They spoiled Desmond. If this kid grows up to be a shit, I blame everyone else. Everyone lets him play with their cameras and Iphones. Everyone loves him, kisses him, and gives him everything he wants. There are maybe 3 people who say no to him with any frequency, and it's only Dad that can resist his tears.

Aunt Mary's family had a reunion nearby, and her brood were in town. You get to see the skills and joy he expresses when handling an Iphone. At the 1:25 mark you'll see his hand try to slide the song. It's kind of creepy that an 18 month old knows that.

Good Morning!

I'd be lying if I said that Desmond's always this happy in the morning. Some mornings he's really hungry and annoyed that someone hasn't gotten him out of his crib yet. However, the morning i taped this, i got some great audio of him talking to himself when he thought no one was listening!

Peek-A-Boo!

Desmond loves to hide behind the curtains in the family room and then surprise us. He's usually a bit more animated when he does it but he wasn't feeling all that great that day. He also ALMOST walks for the camera but changes his mind!

How Mom Keeps Desmond Occupied When She's Cooking

I tried to keep him out of the tupperware but he's obsessed with it. Plus it keeps him occupied when I'm trying to get stuff done in the kitchen. He can't rip it out of the cabinet fast enough!

Desmond is now at the age where he thinks that knocking over blocks is hilarious! This is the last video taken of Desmond before his haircut. Desmond watches 'The Street' now. When he watches, sometimes he lays on his tummy and crosses his hands under his upturned face. The cuteness scale is off the charts.

Dad is in a Video?????

Des thinks he can spin. Dad shows him how. Oh how he showed him how and now the kid is obsessed with spinning everything he can. Dad is almost always behidn the camera, but not this time. Not on Christmas night before bedtime.

Pepere F Taunts Des

Pepere F taunts Desmond with some food. Years from now, one them these two will cry watching these silly little videos of the two of them.

Des & Pepere F Exchange Gibberish

While watching "Holiday Inn", Desmond and Pepere F hang out. Pepere says French gibberish while Desmond says baby gibberish. They do some dancing, while Mom and Dad complain about the lack of dinner & dancing places and wonder if they existed in Portland in the old days.

Desmond Loses it with Quackers

On Christmas, Desmond was cracking up with Mom and Mem over Quackers. They brought him downstairs after his nap, and this was the 3 mins of him losing it. Quackers makes him laugh this hard. Not us.

Early Crawling

He had this early habit of crawling two or three steps and then sticking out his leg straight. He also did some Russian floor routines to get around.

Erica Entertains Des Before His Bath

During Erica's December visit, we put him through the bootcamp to get crawling. She also helped Dad with Desmond's nightly routine.

Des and Mom play with the small truck. He's not big on rolling the ball back and forth but he likes pushing trucks.

Happy Birthday Desmond!

It's hard to believe that he's a year old today! He has gained 19 pounds and grown about 11 inches! We love you so much buddy!
