Good Morning!

This is what i get to see every morning.  He's so darn cute!  You'll notice in the second picture,  he is laying the wrong way in the crib.  we don't put him in there like that.  He's becoming pretty moble in there!  Guess we'll have to lower the mattress sooner rather than later!

Desmond's Pumped Up Kicks

We went to a HUGE consignment sale the other day and picked up some shoes for The Des.  As you can see, he's very proud of his new accessory.  I had to put him in the excersaucer to get a close up of them since he kept hitting his shoes together in the high chair (they make noise you know!!!!)

Two Teeth

The Bunker Chair

When we eat at the dining room table (gasp!) or go out to eat (think fast food) we find that putting desmond in this chair makes him happy.  he was a bit hot that night and decided to go shirtless.

Eight Months Old!!!!

The little man is eight months old today!  In celebration of this, he decided to wear some suspenders.

Desmond and Abstract Thought

It is early but the good peek a boo is at the 14 sec mark. He pulls the blanket up to hide his face, holds it, and then drops it with a smile. He is mimicing our peek a boo and starting that whole if I can't see you, you can't see me idea.

Desmond Moves his Feet to Faith, Recaps Maine

Desmond listens to George Michael and recounts his Maine trip with Dad. Watch his movements with the blanket as it leads to tomorrow's surprise.

Des Listens to "Wings" and Talks

Des listens to the radio and talks. Dad compares him to an old man on the toilet and accuses him of drinking. Dad tickles Desmond as it is his weakness. He also grabs Desmond's tongue for sticking it out.

Desmond hangs out with his Matante. He stands a bit and marvels at cousin Abigail's walking ability.

More Cousin Time

More cousins on camera. It's cute when they are this age, but I bet in 13 years, we'll be cursing the cluster of teen girls in the house at family events.

Sept 11th

This is our first Sept 11th with Desmond. It also happens to be the 10th anniversary of that day. Desmond was years away from being a twinkle in my eye and about 100 spots back in the egg line inside Mom. I was looking back at some things I wrote down Sept 11th 2001, and recalled the confusion, sadness and frustration I and my friends & family felt. Looking back on it, events like that can create big changes, but life rolls on. I'm thankful Desmond is born into a world not nearly as dark as what we feared that first night in September.

Cousins and Hunter

Hey it's more cousin time and a special appearance by Hunter. That Captain and Tennile dog pillow was the hit of the week with keeping babies from crying. Grampy spends time pushing puffs on little babies.

More of Des' Landry Side

First, it is cousin Abigail's family, then we have a passed out cousin Clara, and then cousin AJ's family. I wanted to preserve Clara's passed out state so that the day she ever claims to be too cool to socialize with us old people, we can show this video to her.

Des' Landry Cousins

Des spent some time with the 3 girl cousins all born just before him (AJ, Abigcail and Clara). Matante is holding Clara, and cousin Erin is also directing the show as the babies need some direction and guidance.

Des with Gramma

Des spends time with Gramma. They look outside, they play pattycake, and they have some fun. Dad explains that he marks his cakes with a "D" because he is named Desmond. AJ cheers him on. His smile is worth a million.

Des spends time with Meg as AJ gets involved. AJ does some jibber jabber as Desmond farts.

Meg and Caitlyn Feed Desmond

Meg feeds Des as Caitlyn watches closely. He'll eat anything from anyone. We later get a shot of Kenny and Eric with Gramma and Grampa.

Des with Uncle Don

Uncle Don had some quality time Desmond on his lap. I think all of that hair surprised Don. Desmond was rather entertained by his Uncle Marc's old lady impersonation.

Des at Camp Ellis

Dad dunked Des in the ocean at Camp Ellis. Some 'super baby', some cold water, and dad's wet ass all for the perfect photo.

Desmond on Aunt Mary's Lap

Erica was taking one of the 10,000 pics of that kid that week while he was on Mary's lap. This kid might be building up a paparazzi tolerance. His ears and concentration are conditioning... do you hear how many people are talking at once?

We see AJ and her crack as she slipped out of her diaper.

Des Dips in the Ocean

Dad dunks Desmond in the ocean for the first time. He also spoke with his friend Dave about Desmond's reaction. We end it with some "super babies".
